LEE KESSLER
Lee Kessler is a television actress, playwright, and stage director. Her career in Hollywood and New York spans 35 years and includes dozens of guest starring roles in episodic TV, mini-series and movies-of-the-week. She had recurring roles in the series “Hill Street Blues” and “Matlock,” and was submitted for Emmy nomination twice for her starring roles in the movie “Collision Course,” and the ABC special, “Which Mother Is Mine?” She co-starred with Peter O’Toole in the movie “Creator.” Her play, “Anais Nin—the Paris Years,” was produced in New York and Los Angeles, with a subsequent tour on the West Coast. She also directed the West Coast premiere of A.R. Gurney’s “Who Killed Richard Cory?

He is officially out…
We spoke. He’s a little shaken up because I didn’t show up with the pesos. But he’s safe.
He did say that of all the things I listed as possible reasons for his absence, that these 2 were definite possibilities:
Personally, I just think he was still exploring his “life” options:
I heard from one of the 2 guests scheduled to appear on my show yesterday (Luis Villasenor) a few minutes before the show started saying he was on his way. Then, no Luis. And last night, I got a strange message from him. Could barely make out what he was saying. Alot of noise in the background. So NATURALLY, I could only assume that it had to be one of the following ’situations’:
I’m not here to judge Luis. Dr. London is only here to listen (and laugh…..c’mon).
In the last part of his message, I heard something about “Bring 75 pesos in unmarked coins to the chonie section at the Bell Gardens Walmart by 1:00pm tomorrow.”
PLEASE………….
I got a 2:00 pedicure scheduled with Hanh over at Happy Nail. I ain’t got that kinda time.
Really, I’m so horribly concerned! I can’t sleep! I can’t eat! (For God’s sake, it’s been 35 minutes since I called Papa John’s…..you think they could get my damn pizza here by now…)

WHAT WAS THE STORY THERE?
With the support and endorsement of Robert Taylor’s son, Terry Taylor, author Linda J. Alexander has written “Reluctant Witness: Robert Taylor, Hollywood, & Communism”.
When Robert Taylor passed away in 1969, the New York Times ran a front page obituary captioned, “Death Ends An Era.” Yet today, Taylor is incorrectly remembered most as the actor who named names. Linda’s book sets the record straight and tells the truth of that political circus.
Alexander will be in Los Angeles, CA on October 7th to talk about scary comparisons between politics of the 1940s and politics of today, how blacklisting was seen as an industry travesty then but today, now that tables have turned, has become accepted reality, and how Robert Taylor’s life lesson could pave the way for a more equitable Hollywood and America. It’s only a matter of time before it comes to a head again unless we find a way to agree to disagree and realize life is a matter of perception. We must willingly meet in a spot where we don’t deny rights, beliefs, and employment of folks based on their politics. (Alexander)
