This episode of “The London Garcia Show” features the segment: THE B-SIDE OF THE SHOWBIZ RIDE
The segment covers: showbiz news, life as an entertainer, the “OMG, are you serious?!” stories that didn’t quite make it to the news, and good All-American honest opinions about all of it.

(Be around the Hollywood scene long enough and you’ll feel like you’re in the middle of a ‘Martian Invasion’)
Our first guest to join us on London Garcia’s The B-Side is:
A LOUDER DISASTER
(love the name - they’re keepin it real people)

Featuring Marie Catastrophe (as a self-proclaimed, unofficial investigative reporter, I will get to the bottom of that last name!), lead singer and guitar player. The streets of McAllen, Texas didn’t quite resemble those of Hollywood Boulevard, both literally or figuratively when it came to opportunity. So, with a few intruments and 2 pairs of pants, she headed for California. After arriving in L.A., she literally started ON Hollywood Boulevard, then moved onto open mics where she met M. Todd Bishop. Todd had been a member of the short-lived but acclaimed band, Swamp Boogie Queen, and had experience in studio and on the road. He found Marie “a cool chick with a great vibe” and the two joined forces to finesse Marie’s songs and get in the studio, with Todd also on bass.
Demos and band in place, they played The Troubadour, The Whiskey, Spaceland, and did a couple short tours. They hit a few speed bumps in the form of ‘music biz knuckleheads’ (you know…those folks that are not exactly honest…or decent), learned from those experiences, and Marie (remember…that sweet small-town girl from Texas…with tattoos and rocks the house) took control of the band, cleaned house, and started fresh with A Louder Disaster.

With the addition of drummer Trey D., who’s been playing since eighth grade, A Louder Disaster has just released their first EP, “The Sweet Sound of Revenge Songs.” Inspired by psycho coworkers, uncommitted musicians, endless hours toiling at work and The Alkaline Trio, “Revenge Songs” was produced by an unlikely but super-skilled artist, Scott Patton (music director for award-winning band Sugarland).

Also joining us on London Garcia’s The B-Side is:
DANIEL JIMENEZ

From Bogota, Columbia, Daniel brings a rich diversity to music and does quite well in the L.A. scene.

Daniel is all over the place. For starters, he fronts the L.A.-based band, Roxing Kafe (also of Columbian origin), who released the single, “Como Duele”. The song was recorded in collaboration with Fruko Y Sus Tesos, one of the most instrumental artists in afro-caribbean music.

And true to their roots, Roxing Kafe has toured in Columbia as well as locally.

Daniel Jimenez also produces and does other work with many bands and music professionals, including Peewee (ex Kumbia Kings) and Elan (The Wailers). Daniel’s music can also be heard in the Sergio Arau movie, A Day With Out A Mexican.

And HOW is it that we can fit in this much fun and goodness into one show? Hey, I’m a giver. And I take my fun to an excessive edge. I can’t be stingy with you dolls.
